Compare the Finished Garment Measurements before choosing your size. Look at the fullness you prefer, the room you need in the sleeves, and the blouse and sleeve lengths. Compare these with your own measurements and, if helpful, a blouse whose fit you like.

Her measurements: bust 90 cm (approx. 35 7/16 in), waist 66 cm (approx. 26 in), hips 92 cm (approx. 36 1/4 in), and upper arm 27 cm (approx. 10 5/8 in). Her height is 175 cm (approx. 5 ft 8 7/8 in).

The finished blouse in this size measures 132 cm (approx. 51 15/16 in) around the bust, waist, and hip/hem. How to measure

First, take your bust, waist, and hip measurements and compare them with our body measurement chart. Your usual clothing size may correspond to different measurements at other brands. The finished garment measurements also help you assess how much room the sewn garment provides.

Measure around the fullest bust, natural waist, and fullest hip. Keep the tape level and comfortably close.
  • Bust: Measure horizontally around the fullest part of your bust and across your back.
  • Waist: Measure around your natural waist at the narrowest part of your torso.
  • Hip: Measure horizontally around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
  • Upper arm: Measure around the fullest part of each upper arm with the arm relaxed; use the larger measurement.

Stand naturally in close-fitting underwear or fitted clothing. Keep the tape level and comfortably close without pulling it tight.

Measure the sewn garment without seam allowances, laid flat and without stretching. Circumference values are the complete garment circumference. These are reference values, not millimeter-exact guarantees; fabric behavior and sewing can affect the result. The body of BRIGITTE is straight, so its finished bust, waist, and hip/hem circumferences are equal.

Choosing your fit

The drafting height is 168 cm / approximately 5 ft 6 1/8 in. Compare center-front, center-back, and sleeve lengths before cutting. Compare your upper-arm body measurement with the finished upper-arm circumference and measure your arm where the flared section begins. A test garment can help you judge the neckline and desired volume. Fabric choice, drape, and elastic adjustment also affect the finished fit.
